My Journey with the Plants

Wild East Herbals owner Gaëlle McNeil is a clinical herbalist living her best wild life on Nova Scotia's south shore.

I believe in a holistic approach to health, addressing underlying issues in order to create the optimum conditions for a healthy mind, body and spirit. I work with whole plant medicine, and offer guidance on nutrition and lifestyle to help you become your healthiest, most vibrant self.

My focus is on the person, not the symptoms or the illness. I create herbal protocols that are unique to the person I am consulting with, usually in the form of tinctures, teas, and/or powders.

My formal studies began in 2012 at David Winston’s Center for Herbal Studies in New Jersey, where I completed the 2-year Clinical Herbalist program as well as a year-long Therapeutics program and a year of Graduate studies.

I completed my clinical training at the Bloom Institute of Holistic Living in Halifax with Savayda Jarone, my long-time herb mentor who started me on this path many years ago.

My own health crisis in my early thirties, as a young mother, led me to the realization that health is a personal journey that lasts throughout a lifetime. I have spent my time since then discovering what my body and spirit need, not just to stay alive, but to thrive.

A key part of my health journey is my relationship to the plants that grow around me, not just ingesting their nutrients and medicines, but being with them in the field, garden, forest and shoreline. I am captivated and intoxicated by the wild medicines in my own backyard.

I believe that everything we need to be well in our bodies can be found within ourselves and in nature. I would love to help guide you in discovering this for yourself.”
